Carménère (Chile)

  • A traditional Bordeaux grape, all but wiped out in Europe, Carménère was introduced in Chile over 150 years ago. Chilean growers thought it was Merlot. It was only recently re-discovered and is quickly gaining world wide popularity. Carménère is medium to full bodied and spicy red with the finesse of a fine French wine and the intensity of a New World discovery. This opulent and rich Carménère boasts luscious flavours of red cherries and berries, hints of spice, and leather, enhanced with robust tannins. 
  • Pairs well with grilled meats, pasta in red sauce, lamb, roast game.
